log off Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how log off (“the app,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our mobile application. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with applicable laws. By using log off, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. However, we may collect:
- Contact Info:
- Name: If you create an account, we may collect your first and last name.
- Email Address: We collect the email address you provide, including hashed email addresses if applicable.
- Usage Data:
- Product Interaction: Data such as app launches, taps, clicks, scrolling, video views, saved places in the app, and other user interactions.
- Other Usage Data: Any additional activity data generated while using the app to enhance features and performance.
- Device & Diagnostics Data:
- Crash Data: Information related to app crashes, including logs and device information at the time of the crash.
- Performance Data: Metrics such as app launch times, hang rates, and energy usage.
- Other Diagnostic Data: Additional data collected for technical analysis and debugging purposes.
- Screen Time Access: With your permission, the app integrates with the iOS Screen Time API to read your device’s usage time and allow you to select apps to block. This data stays on your device and is used to display insights to you; we do not transmit your selection of distracting apps or app usage times to our servers.
- Advertising & Attribution Data:
- Device identifiers: Such as IDFA, if permitted.
- Attribution data: For example, whether you installed the app after viewing an ad.
- Event data: Such as app installs, trial starts, and purchases.
This data may be shared with advertising platforms (e.g., Meta, TikTok) for measurement, attribution, and advertising optimization purposes.
We do not use advertising data ourselves to build user profiles outside of improving our app and marketing performance.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and Improve the Service: Names and emails are used for account creation and syncing across devices. Usage and diagnostic data help us fix bugs, improve features, and ensure the app functions effectively.
- Personalization: We may use your usage patterns to suggest features such as scheduled blocks. Any personalization is done algorithmically, without extensive profiling.
- Communications: If you contact support, we use your email to respond. We may send occasional in-app notifications or emails about important updates, but we do not send spam.
- Advertising & Attribution: We use limited data to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, understand user acquisition sources, and optimize marketing performance. This includes tracking installs, trial starts, and subscription conversions.
We do not:
- Sell your data to any third parties.
- Use your data for third-party advertising targeting unrelated to log off.
4. Third-Party Services
log off may use third-party services to operate and improve the app:
- Analytics: We use Superwall and Mixpanel to collect usage data, which may be associated with device-level identifiers but is not used by us to directly identify you.
- Error Reporting: We use Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics to automatically receive crash reports when the app experiences an error. These reports include device type and technical details at the time of the crash but do not contain information that directly identifies you.
- Advertising Platforms: We may use services such as Meta (Facebook) and TikTok to measure ad performance and attribute installs or purchases. These platforms may receive limited data such as device identifiers and event data (e.g., installs, purchases) to measure, attribute, and optimize advertising performance.
5. User Rights and Choices
- You can delete your account at any time from within the app’s settings. Using the “delete account” feature will remove your personal data (account info and stored preferences) from our systems.
6. Data Security
- Communications between the app and our servers are encrypted via HTTPS.
- Our third-party providers are vetted for security practices.
- However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately.
7. Data Retention
- We retain your personal data only as long as needed for app functionality.
- If you delete your account, we erase your personal data immediately.
- Aggregate analytics data (which does not identify you) may be kept longer for improving the app.
8. Children’s Privacy
Age Limit: log off is intended for users 17 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 17. If we become aware that we have done so, we will promptly delete the data.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions where our third-party providers operate. We ensure all transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
10. User Consent and Withdrawal
- You can withdraw consent for Screen Time access at any time via your iOS settings.
- Withdrawing consent may limit certain app functionalities.
11. Cookies or Local Storage
- The app does not use cookies but may use local storage to save preferences and cache data.
- This data remains on your device and is not accessible by us.
12. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically as the app evolves or privacy laws change. We will notify users of significant updates via in-app messages or email (if applicable).
14. Advertising & Tracking Transparency
We comply with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. Where required, we will request your permission before tracking your activity across apps and websites owned by other companies.
You can control tracking permissions at any time through your device settings.
